Detroit Senior Photography, Inspired by Real Connection

Sometimes the best stories start in the most unexpected places. Five years ago, I missed a flight and met an amazing woman named Laurra at the airport. We laughed about our travel disaster, helped each other find new flights, and kept in touch over time.

Fast forward to this year, and Laurra reached out because her daughter was ready for her senior photos in Detroit. She wanted a session that felt true to her personality. Something that showed her style, her love of music, and the city she grew up in.

We started the session at a record store in downtown Detroit, surrounded by vinyl, vintage vibes, and all the character that makes Detroit what it is. Then we headed over to the Detroit Institute of Arts for classic and artistic senior portraits with the DIA’s beautiful architecture as the backdrop.

These images reflect everything I love about senior photography in Detroit. Personality, emotion, a little adventure, and a story that feels meaningful.
