Kaitlyn’s Senior Session | South Haven Beach, Michigan

There’s something about the west side of Michigan that just hits different, especially in the summer. Warm air, soft golden light, and that endless stretch of shoreline that makes everything feel a little more alive. Kaitlyn’s senior session at South Haven Beach was exactly that kind of magic.
We planned her session for golden hour, when the sun starts to dip and everything turns that soft, dreamy gold. It’s my favorite time to shoot, especially by the water, because the light wraps around you in the most flattering, natural way. No harsh shadows, no stress, just pure glow.
Kaitlyn showed up with the best energy. Confident, calm, and fully herself, which is honestly what makes a session like this come to life. That’s always the goal with my seniors. Not stiff poses or forced smiles, but movement, personality, and real moments. We walked along the shoreline, let the wind do its thing, and leaned into whatever felt natural in the moment.
One of my favorite parts about shooting at South Haven is the variety you get without having to go far. The beach gives you that open, coastal feel, while the pier and lighthouse add structure and depth to the images. It creates a full story in one session, which is exactly what I want for my seniors.
Kaitlyn’s outfits tied everything together perfectly. Flowy, effortless pieces that moved with the breeze and complemented the tones of the lake and sand. Nothing overdone, just elevated enough to feel special while still staying true to her.
Kaitlyn, you made this so easy and so fun. I’m so excited for everything ahead of you.
If you’re dreaming of a senior session that feels more like an experience than a photoshoot, something relaxed, natural, and a little adventurous, I’m always down to head back to the lakeshore with you.
